Vicky’s Keys Reimagined: Sint Maarten’s First Heritage Agrarian Campus & Innovation Hub

Big news from the heart of Sucker Garden: Vicky’s Keys is officially repositioning as Sint Maarten’s first heritage agrarian campus residency and innovation hub—a bold leap forward in our mission to empower, restore, and innovate for the future of the Caribbean.

Rooted in Heritage, Growing for Tomorrow

Vicky’s Keys has always been more than a place to stay. Founded on the legacy of community, resilience, and empowerment, we’re now deepening our roots as a living campus—one that honors the stories of the past while cultivating new opportunities for the next generation.

Our campus is set on historic grounds, with original slave walls and fruit trees that have witnessed centuries of Caribbean life. By blending this rich heritage with forward-thinking education and innovation, we’re building a space where land, legacy, and learning come together.

What’s New: Agrarian Residency & Innovation

Starting this academic year (November–July), Vicky’s Keys is welcoming residents, scholars, and changemakers to join our campus community. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Heritage Agrarian Residency: Live, learn, and contribute to land restoration, sustainable food systems, and knowledge recovery. Residents participate in weekly field sessions, monthly heritage circles, and hands-on projects that make a real impact.
  • Innovation Hub: We’re launching collaborative projects in permaculture, aquaponics, climate resilience, and post-slavery empowerment. Our campus is a testbed for new ideas—where research, entrepreneurship, and community action intersect.
  • Academic Partnerships: As a micro-campus for the Heritage Agrarian Institute of Caribbean Innovation (HAICI), we’re connecting local and international students to practical, real-world training in sustainable agriculture and community development.

Why This Matters

This repositioning isn’t just about a new name or program—it’s about reclaiming our narrative and building a future where Sint Maarten’s land, culture, and people thrive together. We’re here to:

  • Restore and honor Caribbean heritage
  • Empower residents and students through applied learning
  • Foster innovation in sustainability and community resilience
  • Create a model for agrarian campuses across the region
