Many volunteers has gone before you, and all of them made a difference in The Keys village. Come and volunteer at our Volunteer Center and work with us on several Sustainable Development Goals projects.
Sint Maarten is still rebuilding and recovering from the devastating impacts of hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. On top of this, COVID-19 is having a severe economic impact on the local economy and community. Due to the crisis, the supply of fresh food has become insecure. To reduce dependence on food imports in the future, large-scale agriculture is necessary to make Sint Maarten less vulnerable and more self-sufficient.
We are continueing development of The Keys Market (TKM), an outdoor bazaar organized several times per year. In addition we initiated Community Gardening and Community Supported Agriculture projects. We also teach Permaculture, Aquaponics and Hydroponics to those who are interested in mentioned gardening techniques. We seek supporters and volunteers to help us further develop our local projects on St. Maarten.
If you are interested to volunteer with us and want more information on how to become a volunteer at our Volunteer Center then click on this link. It will take you to Stichting Marlin Yard which is our foundation’s website.
Come join us on our quest! Help us make a huge change for a better and sustainable future of Sint Maarten and its inhabitants.
Support our causes by spending your holidays at Vicky’s Keys Hostel.
Set into the Sint Maarten country hillsides, we are just across the Great Pond and from sweeping ocean sands, and a 5 minute scenic drive to the quaint streets of Philipsburg. If you are looking for a pleasant but affordable place to stay, in a quiet suburban village away from the daily island hustle and bustle then Vicky’s Keys Hostel is the place to be.
Staying at Vicky’s Keys is a way to experience the rural island life among the locals. You will be awakened by the roosters in the morning, or you suddenly see a herd of goats passing by, or hear the cows lowing or even experience a donkey paying our yard a visit. This is all part of the daily and rural life in “The Keys”.
Since our passion is recycling most of our interior is contemporary designed with recycled materials giving that island style urban look accompanied with boho design, uniqueness and simplicity. Guests can arrange lodging for a Single (bunk) bed at one of our Mixed Dormitories, or a Private room within our Dormitory, or a Private Luxury Studio, or one of our Family apartments. On the premises you will find a Café, Terrace (ground and roof) with barbecue area and our Kitchen Gardens where you are allowed to pick fresh and home grown veggies and herbs.
